Sony Pictures Television’s Gemstone Studios has launched the Rising Storytellers Search and announced the opportunity to receive a development deal with Sony Pictures Television!
We are thrilled to announce that Celtx is a brand partner of the Rising Storytellers Search and that we will be providing our all-in-one scriptwriting and pre-production tools as well as access to our industry experts to help them make the best of this exciting opportunity.
This program seeks to champion diverse and underrepresented creators and they’re looking for distinctive female-led stories. The winning pitch will be offered a development deal!

There’s a lot to like about the Search.
They’ve levelled the playing field in a lot of ways. There’s no big submission to write or big production to undertake. All you need is a short video with your pitch and bio.
They’ve been very thoughtful about who they’ve brought on board to support the program. The Search was announced at the Bentonville Film Festival, a festival that champions inclusion and diversity in storytelling. BFF’s primary research partner is the Geena Davis Institute on Gender and Media Studies which focuses on collaboration with the entertainment and media industries to drive inclusion and equity onscreen.
Josefinas, a company and brand that seeks to inspire and empower women, will provide prizing to the finalists. We recommend checking out their website – especially their current collaboration with Jacqueline Bissett supporting victims of domestic violence called ‘You Can Leave’.
Sony Alpha will be providing $14,000 worth of equipment and prizing. Their Sony Alpha Female program started in 2018 seeks to increase voice diversity in the imaging and film industries through grant programs and strategic partnerships.
Celtx is also proud to be a partner of the Rising Storytellers Search and the effort to encourage inclusion in storytelling and diversity in storytellers. The Search is looking for emerging voices to “blaze an alternative path to production” and we love that. It is our privilege to collaborate with industry and community partners to make it known that your story matters, and now more than ever, it needs to be told.
