The Celtx team extends Congratulations to our friend, Mike Jones and his colleagues at the AFTRS Dept. of Screen Studies on their recent launch of screenculture.net - "a new website for ideas and intuitions about screen cultures and futures." Mike wrote us and shared the following about what they'll be offering on the site :
We are blogging regularly around themes such as: Genres, Webisodes, Magic Realism, Development, Story, “Auteur TV” (our name for a phenomenon we are attempting to define/describe) Research and more - and we’d like to invite you to rss our posts as well as to propose guest posts on our monthly (roughly!) themes, when inspired.
Other features of the site include: the latest info about our new courses – Screen Studies now convenes three awards courses at AFTRS, an historic first for the momentum of ideas here. The courses are:
- MA by Research - is a program of self-directed study on a project that will produce new knowledge for industry.
- Graduate Certificate in Screen Culture - where students encounter the key ideas that shape our screen culture and develop and articulate their own.
- Graduate Certificate in Webisodes (new in 2011!) - designed for a new generation of screen storytellers who will be using camera and laptops as sketchpads, making and remaking their stories as a way of learning their craft, honing their ideas and developing their online audiences.
Also featured on screenculture.net is info about our students’ research projects, links to their blogs and links to other screen culture sites of note. We’d be delighted to link to your site or blog, too, send us the info! All the best,
Mike
