The other day, from out-of-the-blue, we received a very nice email from Chris Bouchard - Director/Producer at Independent Online Cinema. Chris wanted to let us know they used Celtx on their independent movie The Hunt For Gollum, an unofficial 40 minute prequel to The Lord
of the Rings.
In Chris' words "Celtx really enabled this community driven film to get made and complimented our open film-making process perfectly! We're using it now on our next feature film."
The Hunt For Gollum was released to millions of views on the net last May and is already the second most watched feature on YouTube Movies. It's an impressive piece of work by any measure - and especially so since Chris and his team made the movie on a scant £3000 budget (roughly $5,000 US). Obviously it was a real community effort and an act of passion by all the players involved.
If you're not among the more than 5,000,000 who have already watched this movie, then you might want to get yourself over to the official website, where the movie is streamed free of charge.
Congratulations to Chris and the Independent Online Cinema team for a job well done!
