Fix it in Pre! Workflow Starts Before the Shooting Does
Hey everyone!
Here's something that just caught our eye...
When Carl Larson and his team of 5 actors and 3 crew had less
than a week to complete an assignment, they relied on detailed pre-pro
planning to get everything right the first time. In this illustrative article up on the Creative COW site, Carl tells why "pre-production
can keep your project on the rails as you balance storytelling and
project design, while staring down the barrel of brutal deadlines".
Check it out today!
Carl's article comes from the September/October issue of Creative COW's online magazine. The COW dedicates the whole issue to "Adventures in Workflow 3.0" with articles focusing on the "evolution from linear to nonlinear production, and now, to simultaneous production".
For more on the value of proper planning and the workflow (r)evolution, check out our very own Motion Sketches video series (in particular, episodes 1 and 7).
Cheers!

That was great stuff. I particularly liked the way they did the music before shooting. It's something I like to do when I can, as it helps me get the mood I'm after, and get the tempo of the shots right.

Thanks Matt.
Good pick up on the point about music before shooting. It reminded me of Mike Jone's comment in Motion Sketches 7 that music or colour should inform the story.
Cheers,
Laurie
