BROOKLYN FILMMAKERS COLLECTIVE BETA presents: 15 FILMS IN 30 MINUTES

BROOKLYN FILMMAKERS COLLECTIVE BETA presents:
15 FILMS IN 30 MINUTES
@ GALAPAGOS ART SPACE - MAY 13th, 2008, 7:30PM
What do you get when you challenge 15 independent filmmakers to make 2-minute films about "Brooklyn" and "change?"
The results will be revealed on Tuesday, May 13th, when Galapagos Art Space is set to host 15 FILMS IN 30 MINUTES, where members of BROOKLYN FILMMAKERS COLLECTIVE BETA will be showcasing their work.
Ranging from documentary to narrative to experimental, and everywhere in between, the films create a complex and thought-provoking exploration of "change" in today's socio-political climate. The event will feature music by a live DJ, giveaways from the sponsor Celtx, and an opportunity to meet the filmmakers. The goal is to introduce audiences to BFC Beta, as well as raise funds to sustain the group's ongoing work.
BFC BETA is a chapter of The Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective, a tight-knit community of professional filmmakers in Brooklyn, NY who are dedicated to innovative approaches to filmmaking. The collective comes together through weekly peer workshops to provide sustained feedback and critiques throughout the life of its members' projects. It is the mission of the BFC to inspire groundbreaking films and maximize exposure of the best work from Brooklyn-based filmmakers.
BFC Beta is located in Williamsburg, with members from throughout the greater New York area.
