Pssst....You might have heard already but just in case....
Our friends over at The Office of Letters and Light who brought you NaNoWriMo (also known as National Novel Writing Month which happens to be the largest writing contest in the world with over 79,000 participants in 69 countries), are about to launch a NEW! event called Script Frenzy. (Celtx forum member, 'zotz' also extends an invitation here.)
Starting in June (that's 8 days to be exact!), this International writing event is free for kids and adults who dare to take on the fun and scintillating challenge of writing 20,000 words in 30 days!! There are no judges or prizes--everyone who hits the word-count goal within the month is a winner.
The 5 Basic Rules are (#5 being the most Important!):
• 1) To be crowned an official Script Frenzy winner, you must write a script of at least 20,000 words and verify this word count on ScriptFrenzy.org.
• 2) You may write individually or in teams of two. Writer teams will have a 20,000 total word goal for their single co-written script.
• 3) Script writing may begin no earlier than 12:00:01 AM on June 1 and must cease no later than 11:59:59 PM on June 30, local time.
• 4) You may write either a screenplay or a stage play.
• 5) You must, at some point, have ridiculous amounts of fun!!!
So if you haven't already,... go download Celtx here, and then sign up for Script Frenzy there and start creating that inner masterpiece that's been itching to get out.
And by the by, as an interim solution to facilitate the writing process, over the next few days the Celtx devs will be adding a server-side word count feature especially for this auspicious occasion :) So stay tuned, and ....
Good Luck!
Sheila
I plan to do a scriptfrenzy with a partner, who lives quite the distance away. How can I e-mail the celtx file to them?

The project can be exported (Script menu->Export,) then saved to your desktop and emailed as a .txt or .html file attachment, OR you can create a PDF (Script menu -> Generate PDF) and email that. PDFs are generated via the Celtx server so you'll need to create a server account first (Help->Celtx Account).
I would suggest that the Celtx collaboration feature is probably your best solution as it allows teams to work together (Download / Edit / Upload) from within the application provided you both have an Internet connection and Celtx server accounts.
For more info on Collaboration and Web Services check out the Wiki Manual (http://wiki.celtx.com/index.php?title=Collaboration ) or head to the forum (http://forums.celtx.com/) for further assistance. Hope this helps. -SC

Note that the above link for the wiki page has an extra ')' at the end, so does not work unless you remove it manually ;-)
Any word on the server-side tool for word counts? Two days away ... excitement builds! Thanks for your support, Celtx!

Thanks John, for bringing that to my attention. T'is fixed it now so you should be able to access.
As for the Celtx word count feature... It has been implemented server-side in scripts published to Project Central. The other news is that this feature will also be included client-side in the next release :) You can read more on word count in the Forum links below.
Have fun and good luck in the 'Frenzy'!

When will the wordcount facility be getting added? Is it there already and I just cant find it?

For the moment the word count has been added server-side, to the display of scripts on Project Central ( http://pc.celtx.com/projects/ ). You'll find it at the top right when you view a script. (Will need to login to view.)
To publish your script to PC, use the 'Web Services' button in your open project to upload your script, and then follow the instructions from there.
This feature will also be included client-side in the next release. - S
