5th Annual FRAMED Script Contest and Film Camp Up and Running!
July 24, 2006 kicked off the St. John’s International Women's Film Festival's FRAMED Film camp in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.
Presented by the Women's Film Festival and the Newfoundland Independent Filmmakers Cooperative (NIFCO), FRAMED is a free hands-on training initiative that provides high school students with a chance to write and create a short film.
The script chosen from the nine entries was Jessie Meyer's “I Was a Teenage Vampire". This story is about a young Goth girl named Mercedes trying to get through a day of high school.
The team of students will shoot and edit the script during a one week period and the resulting film will be screened at the 17th Annual St. John's International Women's Film Festival, Oct. 18-22, 2006.
Celtx was on hand to help out with the preparation and to do a workshop on script formatting, breakdown and collaboration with the students. The short script will be shot over two days with two days of editing at the NIFCO. According to FRAMED co-ordinator Jon Montes, “It was so good to have Celtx there again this year; I know the participants were blown away by the software."
Be sure to check out "I Was a Teenaged Vampire" at the St. John's Women's Film Festival, October 18-22 in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.
