Celtx gets a lift at NAB

logo-notype.pngNAB 2006, The World's Largest Electronic Media show has come and gone and while we wanted to be there, we thought it best to stay home and slave away on the release of v097.
However, little did we know that our buddy Philip Hodgetts, Managing Editor of Creative Planet's Digital Production Buzz attended the event donning his Celtx Tshirt (he says it's his 'favorite') every day while performing live shows from the Creative Planet stand... I mean how cool is that?!! (See snap of Cool Phil wearing Cool Celtx T, below)

So Cheers to you, Sir Phil! On behalf of a the Celtx Team... Thanks a TON for thinking of us.
Maybe we'll see you all at NAB next year....(with Celtx Ts in tow, of course).

Adios!
Sheila et al

Celtx Version 0.9.7... just around the corner!

logo-notype.pngFirst of all, Thank You everybody for your patience as the release of version 097 has taken a little longer than expected. To explain, in response to your feedback we made some significant changes and want to get it as right as we can... so know your wait will soon be over!

It has become evident that the International nature and versatile features of Celtx have attracted the attention of creative producers like animators, game developers and musicians, to name just a few, so we changed the course of our roadmap a smidge to meet some of the specific requests that will make Celtx THE media pre-production tool.

To tease you a tad.... the next release has a little something for everyone...

Write What You Want To Write
- Celtx will now support writing any type of plain text document, as well as formatted Outlines and industry standard screenplays, giving you the freedom and flexibility to create and communicate the way you want, whether you're creating a script, a play, a short story, a poem or song lyrics.

Write with Ease
- To help improve your writing workflow, we added a number of those little features you've all been screaming for like inline spellcheck with context menu support, improved tab key functionality, auto-complete, upper/lowercase function, etc, etc.

Add Any Doc
- Celtx now supports multiple documents in any format. Add any spreadsheet, film schedule, PDF, and storyboard to your Celtx Project where they can be easily organized, read or shared with others.

- You can also use this feature to add multiple scripts to your Celtx Project, facilitating episodic projects or to help with multiple writer collaborations.

Print Your Forms
- All the forms, including the Scene details and character forms will be printable.

Expand your team
- New customizable production forms have been added for actors, location managers, and those taking care of wardrobe and props

New Report options
- Additional report options have been added including character dialog, scene elements and script notes.

Save Your Way
- Project management features now allow you to save your projects wherever the heck you want

A Facelift
- The Celtx Launch Page has a whole new look providing direct access to a list of your recent projects, as well as to Project Central, the Discussion boards and Support.

As you explore, I'm sure you'll be smitten with these and the number of other feature surprises you'll discover.

When ready (which will be very soon), we'll shout the news across the Net, and Celtx users will be automatically informed of the release via the application's Notifier. So please stay tuned... In the meantime, keep making that media, and be sure to spread the word and invite your friends to DOWNLOAD CELTX.

Many thanks,
Sheila and The Celtx Team
