Mar 3-5/06 saw some riveting action at the Ecole de technologie superieur in Montreal, as 33 teams representing Universities from across North America snapped, crackled and popped their collective synapses as they battled it out at this year's Computer Science Games ( CS Games).
For three days, participants were challenged individually and by team in a variety of computer science fields. Newfoundland and Labrador's Memorial University was represented by a team of 6 Computer Engineer and 4 Computer Science students who put forth a most respectable performance in a variety of CS domains such as programming, video games, algorithm and logic.
Sam Higdon, President of the MUNCS Society said, " We got 23 out of 33 which is pretty good to us considering the steep competition we were up against. Some students have already started planning for next year. They are getting organized and setting up times to practice to give us the best shot we can have next year."
With four members of the Celtx development team having graduated from Memorial University, Greyfirst Corp. is especially pleased to have been a proud supporter of the home team, and contributor of the computer science community at large.
